Monitored Recycling?

I am a big fan of recycling what I am not a big fan of, is being spied on. For that reason imagine my disgust when I recently discovered an RFID tag in my recycling bin. Such a tag allows for constant monitoring of the bin and consequently what is in the bin (once its been collected). Now don't get me wrong I have nothing to hide but the idea of this disgusts me. A private company monitoring what and when I recycle is just not on. It will be bad enough when Belfast City Council replace my bin with one that contains a similar tag. Worse still when I contacted the company about removing the tag, they said I could but they would not collect the bin anymore. As a result I am going to have to return to the way recycling was done when Pluto was still a planet and make my regular journey to a local recycling centre. Granted not the worst of complaints but I know a number of my friends will not recycle anymore now
